Embodying Fluidity Workshop

A Ritual of Resilience in the Midst of Uncertainty and Changing Times

Movement – Mudra – Meditation

From the rhythm of our breathing to the pulsation of our heart beating, our bodies are dynamically changing, vacillating, and regenerative, like the element of water. You can never step into the same river twice. Get in touch with the organic movement that naturally arises in alignment with your fluid body. Let’s move together, like water, with ease and flow, “thawing out” the areas of rigidity and tension in your body. Learn a new salute to the water element accompanied by progressive sequences that navigate around the yoga mat in a mandala, or circular pattern. Explore your inner feeling intelligence while being guided through your yoga practice with curiosity, creativity and spontaneity. The mindful movements are intended to increase awareness of body language to build confidence and release tension. The heart of this style of yoga is the way it grounds the intelligence of the body by keying into your feelings and sensations as your motivation for movement. Paying attention to what your body needs, give you practical centering techniques and moving according to what feels wonderful and brings you joy with loving kindness towards one’s own body and mind. Sometimes finding the humor in the whole process, but mostly being present to whatever shows up in the moment.

Skill In Action: Compassion Circle

Merry will hold a sacred circle space and share information about Nonviolent Communication. Sometimes referred to as compassionate listening, “NVC” helps us connect with ourselves and others in a way that allows our natural compassion to flourish. The 4 steps of Nonviolent Communication provides a framework that guides us to rethink the way we express ourselves and listen to others. In this workshop we will “try on” a new way of seeing and hearing the world that fosters respect and empathy. Compassionate listening engenders peace and harmony with-in yourself and mutual, heartfelt understanding in relationships. The success of your ability to promote peace is largely based on your willingness, honesty, and your choice to stretch open your heart and mind so that you may experience a shift in your perspective. Warning: this work has been known by millions to change lives and create deep connection.
